Writing: A Picture that Speaks to Me
The original source of the picture can be found here.
I absolutely fell in love with this picture. Serenity, peace, rustic spirit and mild sun in this image take me away from my busy daily life in a big city. Calm earth colors- green, brown, gray- help my eyes to relax. The gorgeous horse is enjoying this beautiful morning and I just want to joint it- lay down in the green grass and stare at the blue sky, pet the horse on its silky nose.
The houses in the background are blurry and I cannot see all the details.I like this fact, because I can imagine that one of them might be mine!
This image celebrates the country style life and wakes up my cowgirl spirit! Do ya'll feel the same?

Critique for Neva's pictures
To see Neva's pictures go here:
1) The pop of color is in purple skirt of the sculpture. The yellow roses also attract the attention.
The pop of color makes sense in this composition. The composition overall is well balanced. The picture is well exposed. The lights ( the shirt, the roses) and darks (the tree in the background) are also well balanced.I would try not to crop the right arm of the statue, I think it will give more dynamics to the picture. The image clearly shows the strength and happiness of this lady, holding her child
I like this picture, it's full of lines and colors. It's interesting to look at it and discover more and more small details.
2) Absolutely amazing picture. It's well balanced: the guitars create a symmetrical balance. The beige and the green guitar pop out right away. The image is well exposed and the combination of the tones is good too. It may seem a bit dark to me, because of the two bottom left guitars and the dark green one above them. If I took a picture of these guitars ( I actually did take a picture of them, too) , I wouldn't cut the bottom par and the left side of the image. This image brings up music, joy and happiness.
3) The picture might be a good advertisement for the famous "Mi Tierra" restaurant. The name of the restaurant pops out in this neon-green light. It might be a little bit out of focus, because I cannot see it very sharp. Good combination of the darks in the bottom- they guide your attention to the bright "Mi Tierra" and keep your eyes on it. The two bright lights to the left, after you notice them, are a bit distracting, but they create this blue and green light on the wooden ceiling. All these create a mysterious, yet welcoming rustic atmosphere. I'd stop by this restaurant to check it out after seeing this image. The composition is balanced, it has the main object pretty much in the center of the image. It might be a little under exposed, but it's complicated to keep a good balance with bright lights and dark background. I'd try to take this picture from a slightly different angle, to avoid the two lights on the left.
And yes, I'm going there for a dinner :)
4) Simple, yet interesting picture. Reminded me of.. elevator. Lines, shapes, angles, letters make it plain and sharp. The color pop is in yellow, red and green buttons. Just like a traffic light, right? The very last button is probably sad, because it has no color on it. Symmetrical balance is good for this image, it just adds more to these lines. The picture seems to be slightly under exposed. Rage of tones is good. If I took this picture, I'd change the exposure, to avoid the dark corners. The feeling I have after looking at this picture, is that I have to go and organize my desk (and my life) better.
5) First, I thought it was a bee house. Some giant bees were about to fly my way. The yellow lines just pop out, making this picture sunny and funny. Closed frame shows many interesting details, such as the texture of the giant-bee-bird-house, the "brick" hat of it. Shallow depth of field is good for this picture, because we don't need to see the background. I definitely wouldn't crop the left wing, so probably, changing the angle would help. It's a well exposed image. I like it, it creates a sunny-summer-no worries mood.
6) The bright yellow, green and red flags "jumping" out of the dark and scary tree branches. The composition is balanced, you can see the rule of thirds in it. It might seem a bit underexposed. Or maybe the dark background creates this impression. The converging lines create very interesting background. I'd avoid the dark bottom right corner ( not sure what it was) and maybe add some details to the picture, as well as changing the ISO (to 320 or so).
7) "Mi Tierra" Restaurant is welcoming you! Very bright, red and yellow doors, are screaming: come, visit us! The yellow painted squares on the doors are good. It's a well composed picture and I like the "frame within a frame" strategy. Different shapes and colors make this picture interesting to look at.
I'd, probably, crop the blue line on the right and avoid cropping the side of the first door on the bottom of the picture. The combination of lights and darks is good: the dark roof and the bright white sky balance each other perfectly. It's clearly a product placement - two "Mi Tierra" related images, that make me hungry!
8) White duck on a dark background. Pops out immediatly. The duck is the main object of the composition. I wouldn't crop the rest of it's body though, or try taking the picture from a different angle. I know, ducks usually don't like to pose for pictures, so it's a great shot of the bird!
It's a well exposed image. The darks and the lights are well balanced in this picture- the white bird and the shade from the tree, some dark spots in the back. This image brings me a feeling of a warm sunny day in a park.
9) The picture itself is a big pop of color: yellow, red, purple, green blue flowers, colorful lines on the statue, bright colored lamp. And a sad "burro"( probably, because he is so gray and boring). The composition is interesting - you can see stop motion in here, and frame within a frame strategies. It's a well exposed and well balanced picture. The corners seem to be a bit darker than the rest of the picture.
I wouldn't crop the top of the right window, I think it will help the composition to be more complete.
It's a weird feeling - bright colors on the background and two sad creatures walking by. Makes me think of life.
10) The floral garland pops out. Purple, orange, blue, pink... Very bright! Attracts your attention and becomes the main object of the image and the center of the composition. It's well composed and well exposed picture. I like the combination of vertical lines on the beck of the chair and the bricks on the ground. This image brings festival mood. I like this picture, it shows me a part of the Fiesta season.
I like Neva's pictures. She did a great job! All pictures have interesting details in them. I like the lines and the shapes and the way she presents them in her images.
